We are a family-owned private company that was founded and operated by my late father Eberle Jean-Baptiste. Mr. Jean-Baptiste (Jean) as he was known to his customers; was a hard working individual who was loyal to his boss, and to his customers. He was hired by the company as a shipping clerk and later, he was promoted to manager of the store until his retirement in 1995. My father was an individual who believed in treating everyone that he meets with respect, he had excellent work-ethics, he was loyal to his boss, and customers. His boss told me once when I visited the store as a young girl "I trust Jean with my life, and my money. Jean would not keep a penny of the store money". This is indeed the man that I knew as my father. My father was an honest man who was dependable and trustworthy.

My father was a simple, honest, hard working individual, who worked until one month before he died. My father did not continue to work well past his retirement years to earn more money. My father enjoyed the relationship he built with many of his loyal customers. Most of all, his work was his passion. I had no interest whatsover in my father's business. It was my father's wish that I continue his business. My father's wish is that we continue to operate his business in the same manner, selling products at wholesale reasonable prices, provide his customers with reliable, prompt, personal customer services. We at Island Shoe Store Supplies pledge to carry the legacy that "Jean" started many years ago.
